I received an email from Mystery Shoppers saying to count myself lucky I've been hired as a Mystery Shopper. Since I have done this long ago and enjoyed it for a little extra money, I was excited especially when I rec'd my first assignment and saw my pay was to be $200.00. Quite an increase from my past experience. This was 10/19/12. $1500 was to go to one address (sent from Western Union - the place I was evaluating, (supposedly) then 1500 to another address. The tax $126.00 on each one. The remaining money I do still have, but my bank will receive the bogus money orders, which I'll be responsible for. Don't know exactly how much will be charged to my account. They said they would notify me.

  • This person (Larry Ward) is most likely a fake name. This scam most likely came from another country. I do have a phone # if that's any help. Most likely they'll not be caught. It was another learning lesson, "if it sounds too good to be true, beware!" The second assignment the next week contained $6,230! This was the red flag for me...and my bank called the police and I did the follow-up. No, I obviously did not do the 2nd assignment. Fool me once, I'm the fool, fool me twice and I hope you get caught!

  • Thank you, Jamie, for posting your experience. I received the same email and was tempted to look into it, when "a feeling" nudged me to Google larryward01. Your post came up. I will heed your warning and delete the email. Hope your bank will work with you and not hold you responsible for the remaining money.
