On June 30th 2012 I was called by Belinda from Form Models after applying to what I assumed was a genuine modeling company. Belinda seemed over excited in my potential and encouraged me to attend a ‘Test shoot’ provided by Neptune Studio that I had apparently been ‘selected’ for. (At the time I was not aware that this is also a part of Form Models, Form modeling platform and Mint Models) I was informed if I was to be ‘successful’ on the day of my test shoot with Neptune Studio, I would have a professional portfolio assembled for me and Form Models would actively help me find work with this portfolio.

Although advertised on the website that deposits payable are £60 to secure a test shoot, I was required to pay a £150 refundable deposit (This was based on the grounds that I am under 22 and would not have a ‘parent’ accompany me) After what I now believe to be greatly misadvised and pressured sold into purchasing a portfolio on the day, I spent a further £500 at the studio towards paying for what I was informed to be a ‘professional portfolio’. I was advised the £650 paid in total covers the cost of 18 images, however as a ‘good will gesture’ (I assume for being naive enough to pay upfront) I was offered a further 18 images free of charge, totaling to 36 images being received.

I recall specifically being advised I require this portfolio even at this early stage for an agency to even consider representing me. Which of course I have now discovered is completely inaccurate! I can confirm it has been close to 3 months since attending my test shoot at Neptune Studios, however to date not a single creditable agency has confirmed these images are usable, quite the contrary! I have been informed by several companies that the quality of my apparent ‘Professional’ portfolio is extremely poor, the colour correction is extremely poor, the clarity of the sharpness in the images are lacking, majority of the images have been over saturated which as a result washes out my features and finally none or hardly any retouching has been done.

To conclude I am writing explain the reasons why I feel I deserve a FULL refund of money paid to Neptune STUDIOS under the following grounds –
- I was initially misadvised and therefore mis-sold the purpose and relevance of a test shoot day by Belinda on our initial conversation.
- I was pressured into purchasing unusable images from Neptune Studio’s on the grounds that these images would be imperative if I was to get an agency to even look at me let alone consider representing me – Which is inaccurate!
- I was informed I will be provided with a ‘professional portfolio’ however received a low budget CD with extremely poor colour correction, some blurry images, far too over saturated which as a result washes out my features and finally none or hardly any retouching. – Far from professional!
- I was promised work will be secured on behalf of me by Form Models – Which is an outright lie!

To make matters worse I also saw the feature of Form Models and how this is a common pattern for you on ‘Rip of Britain!’ On the basis of the points raised above I am requesting for a refund to be made to the value of £650.00
