The dress I ordered as custom made did not in any way look like the design requested and since they finished the dress the day before the wedding, I had no choice but to accept it. The dress had a lacy overlay over a base dress. Despite the design issues, my complaint is on the workmanship of the dress. The dress was 2+ inches too short (should have been floor length, formal gown). The hem was crooked and mismatched so that there was a 1+ inch length difference where the vertical seam met. They glued or stitched extra 1 inch pieces of material on the bottom of the hem to add length. These pieces easily caught on stairs and door frames and tore off. One of these tears happened as I was following the bride and groom from the church and was witnessed by the wedding guests, others were witnessed by the bridal party who tried to help me with sewing up the tears.
In addition, in trying to add length to the dress, when they did the final pressing, they stretched the lacy overlay so tight that glitter and material strands in the overlay snapped and were unraveling and coming out of the material on the wedding day. I was constantly snipping these strands off and trying to repair the hem tears. These dress problems caused an extensive amount of unnecessary stress and was a black mark on the memories of my daughters wedding. I also missed out on many potential memories, like the cake cutting and special dances, because I was busy cutting loose strands from the dress.
I have sent emails and FB messages to Unique Bridal and they haven't responded at all and have actually blocked me on FB.
