As a result of very poor service, I changed my electricity and gas supplier from Npower last summer. The company acknowledged the change, but continued to take payments by direct debit, I therefore withdrew their DD mandate. Since August last they have been bombarding with demands for electricity charges - sometimes arranging for the delivery of threats from a seemingly nefarious organisation, Messrs Collections Direct. I have informed them on countless occasions that I will not pay any amounts until I receive the appropriate, detailed bills. I have been continuosly promised these documents by telephone operatives - most recently last Tuesday - but have never received them. I received yet another threat of court action in yesterday's post.
As soon as I receive detailed accounts I will pay whatever is owed. But I feel that Messrs Npower have subjected me - a pensioner - to unreasonable harrassment, and should award me with compensation.
