I received an email from "OverstockCloseout" 'Get an IPad for under $30.' I opened it and looked at the auction page, some things were under $30, so I clicked on register to Bid and filled out the info, you had to put in your credit card # to bid. I did so, and immediately I was charged $99 for a 250 Bid package, which was NOT mentioned in the terms of agreement page, and further stated that a refund could be obtained on the unused bids within 30 days. I called the number they had listed and a young woman (with Russian accent) said she was sorry but their policy was no refund once you signed up & offered me $100 in restaurant coupons, which I said I did not want. I asked to speak to her manager, but she said I couldn't. The best they could do was the coupons (which who knows how valid these are!) and 250 free bids. I was so mad at myself for putting in my bank credit number, the whole setup was completely misleading. Once you click that button, you are charged $99 instantly without knowing upfront. I'm upset because I am a teacher who has gotten my hours cut and I am on a limited budget, and $99 is a whole lot to me right now. As persistent as I was with her on the phone, I got nowhere. When I tried to go back to the auction later, I could not get in. Never once was I asked to create a username or password. The girl mentioned that if I didn't "win" anything in the auction, just simply call them and they will offer it at the full price, minus the bids and I could buy it! What a rip off, I will never put in my bank credit number again anywhere! They could have cleaned me out, I will have to call my bank and see if indeed, only $99 has been taken out. Zbiddy should be fully investigated and all money should be refunded as stated in the fine print.
