A downpayment was put down for a new metal roof to be installed on our granddaughters home in Green Springs, Ohio in the sum of $1400.00, with balance due upon completion. After furthur investigation of the product the roofer was using, we called him the very next morning and explained to him that at this time we would like to cancel the contract, he agreed to that and stated he would return our money. At this time I asked him also if he would send us the signed original contract that he didn't give to us, he stated he would also do this.
The Maintenance Man was very nice and agreed to sending us the original signed agreement and returning our money, Yes he agreed on every thing untill my check cleared and the money was in his hand, then he wouldn't discuss anything with us except he kept the $100.00 to pay his help to clean his truck out!!!! When this contract was signed there was no where on it stating there was to be penalties for cancellation or any thing else. He has refused to return phone calls or to send me the original signed contract because I believe he knows there is nothing on the contract we signed and he knows he is wrong. We were wrong by not stopping payment on the check, but I truly believed and trusted him and didn't think he would treat us this way.
