I live on a main street in a small town in Michigan.

I enlarged my driveway from a single to a double for parking, and to increase the property value. Before I started to expand the driveway I called Frontier phone company and told them I wanted the pedestal that is on my property, not on an easement, moved because it's almost in the center of where the parking places would be. Frontier gave me an estimate of over $8000 to move the pedestal, when I called to complain the supervisor turned it over to is supervisor and his supervisor said he had made a mistake and it should be $6000 something which is still ridiculous. I had the guys come to do the driveway anyway and they cut one of the cable lines and it interfered with no one in the neighborhood, I checked and everyone had phone service. There was still one cable line hooked up, it's an old box. Frontier did not put the box in it was probably put in by Verizon. The supervisor said they had permission to put the box there. I have been in the house 10 years and the box was there when I moved in...Frontier bought out Verizon in that area in 2009. The pedestal is not even on the property line....it's over about 8' from the property line. As I said I did the driveway anyway and the stupid box is sitting there looking ridiculous in my driveway...Does Frontier have the right to have something on my property? It is not next to the street on the terrace it's on the side of the sidewalk closest to the house. I am the present owner of the house and did not give them permission or anyone for that matter to do it. I also had someone that used to work for the phone company come over and look at it and he said there is no way that it should cost that much to move that box. He said it would take one man and Frontier is talking about engineers etc. What are my rights? They never did come out and repair the cable that was cut. This happened in September of 2012. the form would only allow me to put in todays date. I don't know what I would lose in Property value by having this pedestal sitting in the middle of the driveway...I couldn't put a cost in.

I live in Michigan.
