I listed an item on Craigslist for sale. Paul Smith inquired using [email protected]. He used the identical format as listed by many other people on this forum regarding Paul Smith. "Is item still available?" "Consider it sold." A few e-mails went back and forth with instructions for payment and shipping by his priviate shipper. He would not answer any questions we asked....his location, his contact information. Nothing! He went as far as shipping a fake cashier's check. The last message from Paul Smith to me before we called his bluff is as follows:

The payment has been sent out and is to be delivered today by the FedEx so here is the tracking number (xxxxxxxxxxxx) for the payment and I will want you to get the check deposited to your bank immediately after receiving it and make a partial withdraw from your Bank Account of the total amount that will remain for the Shipper in the $1900 check and get it sent to the Shipper via Western Union and make sure you send the money as Instant Cash and get back to me with the full information given to you at the Western Union Office so that i can get it to the Shipper and they can have the money to get on their way to your place for the pick up for it to be delivered to me on time so i will want you to act as instructed for things to work out well between us..

I didn't lose any money, but his fake check was made out to $1,900.
