I went in for a routine test and recieved an estimate for the amount of $504.94, which I paid in full that day. I was told that I may owe an additional amount or that I may recieve a refund check in the mail. When I ask how much, she said They usually are around $100. to $200.Which would have been fine, But the bills started comming in and I paid $552.92 in addition to physician etc. Then I recieve a bill for $1,753.65 That is no less past due.....and will be turned over to collection agency. I think this is a way of scaming people who pay their bill, If you have good credit and own a home you will not let you credit be destroyed by a bill from a hospital. I can't afford this if I had been told that the bill would have been this amount I never would have had the test done I only spend what I can afford.This is not an estimate It would have cost me 5X the orignal amount please help me I try to be honest and pay my bill.
