I signed a contract with this contractor to help me work on an underpinning project, concrete slab, area walk with stairs. But after receiving the down payment ($3,800), contractor had serious attendance issues and eventually bailed out after being asked to show up on regular basis to do work so project can be done on time as agreed. No notable work has been done for almost 3 weeks since he started (other than making small whole/damage on foundation of my home). He also refused to pay back the deposit he received and is now on the run. As a result of this contractor's failure to honor his contractual obligations to finish working on project, I'm now way behind schedule to finish project, which was supposed to be completed end of August of this year. He also exposed my home so serious water damage and the possibility of collapsing issues due to failing to provide reinforcement and waterproof around working area. I also cannot refinance my home at this point and I'm way behind to resume completion of project.
