While balancing my checkbook today and looking at my online bank statement, I noticed a charge that took place on 9/17 with an electronic check for $39.99. The check number was odd, so I clicked on it for detail and it was made payable to TrueFax Solutions. Not having a clue what this was, I contacted the 877 number listed on the check and the person I spoke with was with a 3rd party billing company and said it was for fax services. She said I completed a monthly trial and that it was a monthly auto-charge. WHAT?! I have no need nor will I ever need fax services! I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THIS! I have no idea how they got my banking information and I haven't signed up for any trials online for anything, much less fax services. She said she would cancel and I demanded a refund. She said it should take place within the next 7 business days; we'll see. Contacting my bank still to dispute. Scary how people can get your information without you even knowing it.
