At aproximately 00:25 on Wednesday 26th September 2012 I was walking home from Norwood Junction Rail Station, in great darkness, down the back roads with barely a person in sight. I was waling fast as it was very late and I am a young woman all alone. The area is known for its high population of foxes at night with a general awareness of potential fox attacks.On this occasion as I passed one fox it began to approach me and almost circle me before picking up speed to follow me. I attempted to scare it away with no luck as it then began to chase me. All alone with nowhere to run in such late hours of the night I ran to my local petrol station, of which I am a regular customer, and precieded to bang on the door, displaying a high amount of panic, distress and anxiety. The gentleman then walked over to the door only to laugh in my face then usher me away explaining he simply will not open the door and it is 'only a fox'. This petrol station closes its doors in the evening allowing customers to pay for their petrol at the night desk outside. I am extremly dissatisfied and dissappointed in this customer service as I have been a regular customer at this petrol station, only to be ushered away in a potentually very dangerous situation. Would I have to be bleeding on the floor or have allowed the animal to attack me before I would be welcomed into safety. Would it had made a difference if I was being chased by a human wishing to harm me as the gentalman was highly reluctant to raise from his seat to come over to the door and assist a young woman in need displaying high amount of fear and panic. I will not be returning to this petrol station again. They have lost a very loyal customer. Particularly in this fact that I am a loyal customer, therfore staff are aware of who I am, that use the station greatly and mean no harm. Such actions demondstrate mere selfishness and an upmost disregard to customer service,welfare and safety.
