I tried to cancel my membership with mate1.com within the 3 day trial period. Their offices are closed from the 888# provided on the web. Then I tried to email them based on the email address on their message: support#mate1.com. The email came back with a failed (error) message. Next I contacted them at their email address [email protected]. and received this: [Mate1 Ticket#: 2012090213004921] Re: Your suggestions to us, however, they state on the automated response form that, "If you have a billing, membership or general site inquiry, please contact Customer Support." I certainly hope with all the run-around, they will honor the 3 day cancellation period, even though I was perhaps 5 minutes late, having not been successful in reaching them by phone to cancel and then had to find alternate ways to try to reach them.

  • Here at Mate1, we actually have 4 different ways in which a member can simply & easily cancel their paid subscriptions. All we ask is that cancellation is placed before the end of the 3-Day Trial. As long as the cancellation is done on time, no further charges will occur.

Mate1.com offers some of the best Customer Support available in the online dating industry, including 7-day-a-week toll-free phone support (1-888-688-4760, or 514-907-0015 if you are outside North America), round-the-clock email support from our help page, as well as a live chat support feature available during normal business hours. Many similar sites offer only limited support options, some lacking even a phone number to get in touch with their staff. We're even open for most holidays, and we post specific holiday hours directly on our Contact Us page when we're not.

As you are probably already aware, our phone lines were unavailable for the Labor Day holiday, but members can always cancel easily simply by logging in accessing the 'My Settings' link on the left side of the page. Click on 'Account Settings,' then 'View Subscription Status' and you can cancel from there (you will be to verify your password).

We're sorry to hear that you've had difficulty contacting us in a timely manner, but as we have now resumed regular business hours, we invite you to contact us directly so that we can better assist you in this matter.

  • The issue of canceling my 3-day trial membership with Mate1.com was resolved and I'm glad they didn't have me go to a lot of trouble to do so. Initially when I spoke with them on the phone, Customer Support told me I had to write a letter of cancellation and mail it within 3 days. Then they emailed me and told me they were canceling my membership without the letter. I'm happy to say they were fair.
