Euro star train delayed

Me and my families where coming back to Uk from Paris to London, then we have been delayed for 50min in Lille Europe, then when we got to London there was 50min Late and we missed our final destination train to Leeds, and that was the last train.
We waited for a connection to Sheffield then Leeds, we got to Sheffield 25min late, and the train was gone, the last one too. the train manager paid the taxi for us and we got home at 1:10am, expected to get home at 22:25 on the same day of 18/08/2012. All this caused us frustration, mental stress and depress, with two small babies,and 3 kids under 8y old, a 63 year old lady with a medical condition, myself as well and my husband. We both missed all our evening medications because of the stress of that 55min delay caused by the Euro star.But I have made claim for a compensation and all they are telling me is the 50% of the single way, what about all the traumas caused to my babies and kids on that day? Please if you could be in help.
