was deceived and taken advantage of by Maid2Clean and its owner Jennifer McLeod.
Mrs. McLeod came to my home to do an evaluation of my home. I required only a few jobs, but I indicated I was very particular. I also stated that I
wanted her and her workers to either remove their shoes or wear foot protectors. Mrs. McLeod agreed but said she was not sure if she had them on
hand.
Two days later she calls and says they don't have them, but for safety reasons she wants her employee to wear her shoes and they will vacuum on the
way out. I reluctantly agreed. I had contracted her to do the oven (inside with racks and the bottom), 2 full baths top to bottom, all the baseboards all
around the house and clean the entryway which included the floor and the walls.
Mrs. McLeod sent 1 person to do all this and I was told it could be done in 3 hours. Her employee, Abigail arrived a few minutes after 10 a.m. on 8-22-
2012. Abigail complained the whole time she was cleaning and I even assisted her by moving things out of her way. The bathrooms were not cleaned
properly and even after telling her what to correct she still did not do it. By 1:20 she still was not done and I had to leave with my son to take him to
school. I tried to reach Mrs. McLeod twice, but had to leave a msg instead. I told Abigail she could use my phone and that I would return in 30 mins or
less. I reminded her what she had left to do (finish the oven and the entryway) Upon my return, Abigail was downstairs and outside talking on her cell!
live on the second floor so my place was left unguarded. She got off the phone and we walked upstairs. Abigail had packed up all her stuff and the
entryway was not done at all and the oven did not look right to me (it looked wet like residue was still on it and the racks were not touched) Abigail did
do something with the entryway floor, but that was it. I gave her the envelope with my check of $107.00 At the time, I was annoyed and knew I wouldn't
be calling them back anytime soon. However, the next day I went to use my oven and as soon as it was turned on it began to smoke and before I knew
it , it filled the apartment with smoke and set off the fire alarm! I was upset and emailed Mrs. McLeod and she tried to avoid me by not answering her
email for 2 days. It wasn't until I called her and used a different number did she pick up. I told her exactly what was said and what happened. She told
me she would give me a partial refund, not a gift certificate. Today, I saw on my online banking she had cashed my check and so I sent an email asking
about my refund. She lied to me and said she never meant that, that she would give me a $30.00 gift certificate. I called her a liar and let her know that
I would accept the certificate, but I would also expect her to send it. Now her husband emails me and identifies himself in the email to intimidate me. I
told him his scare tactics would not work and to refrain from sending me any more emails as I would view them as harassment. He still sent another one
despite my warning.
