I ordered what I thought was a free trial offer of Dermapure on 8/4/12 and the advertisement said I would only be charged $1.95. It arrived and when I got my credit card statement I had been charged the $1.95 BUT on the same statement on 8/19/12 I was charged $89.95. Also there were Foreign Transaction fees of 4 cents and $1.80 on the same dates! I got the jar and listed, on the back, is a customer number that does answer. It is 1-888-589-3380. I spoke with a customer representative and she explained that if you don't return the product in 10 days that you get charged the full amount. I said that there was no such information in the offer on the internet. She then stated that the information is on the packing slip that comes with product and said I would need to have that in order for her to do "anything". Of course I did not save the slip. I then stated that I had been on the internet and there were multiple sites stating that this is a scam and fraud. She then said I would have to send back the product or she could offer me half off and refund $45.00 on my credit card. Rather than having to take the time to send it back and bear the expense of postage and "hope" I could get a full refund, I took the half off deal. The rep asked me if I liked the product and I said it was alright but was very angry at their "shady" marketing strategy. I looked at other sites like Amazon etc. and the reviews for their products are pretty good. So I do not understand why they would jeopardize their company's reputation with this kind of misleading ad. When I inquired about the foreign transaction fees I was told that was because Dermapure uses a foreign bank! So ladies beware and make sure you look at your packing slips, read them and save them.
