Maggie (Margarita Vega Rodriguez) and Chino (Edwin Flores) had been calling me for days asking me to let them borrow $1500.00. Maggie kept telling me that Chino was in trouble with the law and that she had asked everyone and no one wanted to help them. Her and I had been friends for over 10 years and I had let her borrow money in the past, however the amount was 3 times what I had let her borrow before and I was a little uncomfortable, however she kept calling me and begging. She kept on bringing up that she has had cancer for years and due to her medical bills her financial situation was not in the best of shapes. At her continue begging and calling is that I finally told her I would see what I could do. I reminded her that I am a single parent and I am currently attending school full time so money is always tight. She assured me that she would only need the money for a maximum of 30 days. ( I have all text messages saved and the deposit slip to her bank account) I finally agreed to let her borrow the money since her and her boyfriend Chino are both working I did not think they would have a problem paying it back. I even went as far as to tell them that I did not want to put a burden on them and that I would take payments on it, free of interest and not collateral needed. I trusted them since I was getting them out of a big problem and because of me he would not go to jail and possibly loose his job. The amount that owe was on traffic tickets. I deposited the money to her account myself and called her once it was done. She sounded so grateful over the phone and on text messages. 30 days went by and I did not even get a phone call, I let them take more time, 60 days went by and no call, 90 days went by and no call, finally at almost 4 months I decided to call them, they would not answer when I finally talked to her she assured me the following weekend she would have $500. The weekend passed and nothing I begin calling her again and no answer. I left her a message on her facebook and she deleted me. I then begin calling her boyfriend who assured for a month that every week he would have something and nothing. When I finally got her upset enough to answer me, she told me that if she had the money she would pay me but since she had filled bankruptcy to not pay her bills I could just add my name to the list of debtors her attorney had listed for her. I explained her that I could not afford to loose that money and she told me "good luck on getting the money back". I have now heard that I am not the only victim to this couple of thief's as they have done this before to many other people, her own words. This is as a warning to many other unsuspected individuals who may think are doing a good deed. Since I have also heard that her supposed cancer that she has told me about for the last 5 years may also be roust, go figured I even prayed for her.

Margarita Vega Rodriguez works in the apartment industry and Edwin Flores appears to be a truck driver.

Don't let people like this take what you have earned. I was stupid enough to do so.
