My 82 year old mother was contacted by a man with a heavy middle eastern accent from a 'private' number. She was informed she had won $50,000 from mega-millions and needed to contact a Mr. Navarro at 201-496-5493 to set up delivery. I called Mr. Navarro for her and spoke with another heavy accented man. He informed me that I needed to have a mega-millions card in order to facilitate delivery which, he claimed, can be purchased at CVS pharmacy or Walmart for $99. I then gave him a lesson in english profanity and ended the conversation. The number tracks to New Jersey, I could hear other heavy accents on other phones in the background, and I can only assume they are targeting the elderly.
