The practices of Moving companies, in particular one company out of North Las Vegas, by the name of NEW PLANET MOVING & STORAGE this company practice a very old trick of thievery when they give their customer a certain price for the moving job and then to be hit by extra charges that was never mention on or during the initial contract of this moving company, they actually keep your Items (hostage) until you pay these outrages bogus fees.
In 07/12/2012 my wife and I contacted a company by the name of New Planet Moving & Storage; they gave us a price (not an estimate) of $1900.00 we paid them $940.00 when they picked up our furniture and the balance of $960.00 to be paid at the time of delivery. Right before the schedule time of delivery we received a phone call from their driver claiming that he cannot bring the truck to my neighborhood of Queens NY and there is going to be an extra charge of $390.00! My wife and I contacted the company and they informed us that they are going to contact the driver and call us back. No one called but when they called us they did to inform us that the truck is going to be 5 days later than the schedule delivery time. Five days my wife, my three children and I had to sleep on the bare floor to discover at the end that our furniture was in New York and they kept it because (according to NEW PLANET MOVING & STORAGE) we did not show willingness to pay the extra $390.00!!!!
We paid the extra $390.00 and finally they delivered our furniture five days later.
This is why the economy is bad and will continue to be bad because American companies have lost its integrity. The hard working honest companies seize to exist in our beloved United States of America. Companies like NEW PLANET MOVING & STORAGE chose to rob the public and the public will respond by not trusting NEW PLANET MOVING & STORAGE and other companies who may be as honest as they can ever be but one bad apple will defiantly ruins it for the rest of the good ones. No ethics in corporate America practices, and please don’t send the public (and Channel 13 viewers) to these mambo jumbo statistics and stick to the truth that Corporate America have lost its integrity and willing to hold hostage a family of five and their furniture for a measly $390.00.
