I received an email regarding my ring I had for sale on craigslist from [email protected]:
"Hello,
I saw your craigslist AD and i am interested in buy you ring hope its still for sale? Thanks"
I wrote back thinking it was a scam, but wanted to be sure before I didn't respond and I got a response from a different email address, [email protected], but from the same Nicole Munoz. Here's the crap I got back:
"Thank you for your email, I was going to call you so i can ask a few
questions and payment of the ring but due to being on Oil rig and
phone calls are totally restricted i decided to email you and hope you
will respond at your earliest convenient
1,I would like to know the reason its being sold?
2,What is your firm price though am okay with the listing price ?
3,Do you have the original box and the receipt ?
4,Do you mind if i pay you through paypal because that is the only
form of payment i have access to right now i would be paying the
shipping charges to San Diego Like i said earlier i am Petroleum
Engineer on offshore and i would like to purchase this ring as a
surprise gift for someone very special to me.

- OMGosh!!! This person is STILL doing the same thing now and this time it is happening to me! Your story and my story is almost the same. I have a ring for sale on Craig's list Alabama it is a 11ctwsolitare Ruby with diamond accents. I got the exact story as you...I'm on an oil rig can't get to land not suppose to be on the internet but I want to get this ring to a special person do you have a paypal acct? The initial email stated AMANDA CRAWFORD....well I chatted back in forth checked with my insurance in case this was a scam. I replied and said I can sell you my ring but I want the money to clear the bank first before I send it. The response was ... SEND IT NOW I have already posted the money in the paypal acct. But this time the email and name changed to Nicole Munuz with the email [email protected]. She wants the ring shipped to NY with insurance and delivery confirmation (I'm like send the person the $$$ that the package is going to be sent to and..figure something out from there).This scammer is a bit different than the other paypal scams and CL cause they are making the emails personal instead of computer generated dialogue. I googled the name Amanda Crawford and it didn't give me any solid results. I just now googled Nicole Munuz name and came across SCAM BOOK. Thanks for posting your complaint 'Luvstmarys'. I so want to off load this ring so bad and my insurance will cover it cause I double and triple checked my policy but still I have the worst luck and I'm sure I'll get shafted by either the scammer or my insurance. Thanks!
