I signed up for be2 - an online dating site. I paid $5. I cancelled my account but I could not cancel my premium subscription. They said I was under a contract and had to pay for 6 months. In the beginning they didn't tell me how much I owed. Then the invoices came through with an amount of roughly $234. Thank goodness my bank are on to these sorts of scams as the withdrawal was declined. I have put in a formal complaint to my bank. The fraud team have looked into this.
be2 are now threatening legal action against me. I have closed my account and had a new visa card issued. I think this website needs to be shut down. The only way people can avoid the unexpected charges from be2 are to close their account and notify the bank of its doings.
