I went onto ASN classifieds looking for a Savannah cat (rescue or adoption) There were quite a few adds for F2 Savannah cats which usually go for $8000+ but the adds stated these kittens were going for adoption. I clicked on the contact name which was Patruedmorga (though the exact same add is also being posted under Jen Anderson and a few other names too.) The person emailed me back saying that for the two kittens I would only have to pay for the shipping which would cost $500. That there raised a red flag for a couple reasons 1.)This person did not even know where I was located yet she knew what the exact shipping price would be. 2.)These cats go for thousands of dollars yet she only wanted 500 for two! Her reasoning was that her daughter who was a student had just died and the cats reminded the "woman" of her daughter. Another thing that raised a flag was that the emailer told me that these kittens were 11 weeks old yet she had been posting this same add since January as far as I could see. I called the woman on these inconsistencies and have yet to get an Email back. So my advice to anyone who is doing any kind of transactions online, please trust your instincts! If something seems fishy or to good to be true it most likely is, always get some sort of contact information where you can call the person back along with their full name and something where you can validate this person is a real person ie. their facebook, address that you can verify is theirs through whitepages/yellow pages.com Good luck to everyone who is dealing with transactions online.
