On 5/3/2012, our business received an unsolicited fax from Yellow Pages America. The fax was labeled "Additional Data Required" with a return toll-free number and to return it by 5/11/2012. We had renewed our local yellow page ad and the online ad in April, so I assumed that they needed additional information for my online presence. I filled out the form, signed it and faxed it back. About a month ago, we received a bill for $1308.00 for $109 per month payable a year in advance, and with a 2 year contract. An absolutely ridiculous contract! I immediately wrote to them with a letter and a email stating the problem and that I wanted this cancelled immediately. The response was that since time had been put into my ad, that the bill was due and payable. After reviewing the internet, I have found that several businesses have been taken in by this scheme. Scambook is showing 22 reports totaling $14,800.00 in damages as of this date. This company needs to change the way they market and their contract. Don't be taken in by this company! Stay away from Yellow Pages America!
