I booked a trip with Travelocity to Europe through their web site about 8 months before I was supposed to leave.
About 60 days before I was to leave, I received an e-mail from them that an Airline that was to transport me to Europe had mysteriously cancelled their flight. There was no way I could complete my trip to Europe under the amended Itinerary that Travelocity now showed in the e-mail. They offered me no options or alternatives. I called them on the telephone. The agents were unable to help me and I was barely able to understand them because of their bad telephone connection and their heavy accents. The agents were rude to me and at times pretended not to understand English. One of them started laughing at me about why I had booked a trip with them. I felt that I was dealing with a bunch of foreign thugs intent on taking my money without providing me any service.
After about 2 weeks, I received an e-mail from Travelocity that I must call them immediately or they would not refund my money for the trip that I had booked. Naturally I called them and I received a very unsatisfactory response from the Agent and the Supervisor. The telephone connection was very weak and I had to ask the agent to talk louder. The agent refused to send me an e-mail confirming that his company Travelocity had broken their guarantee with me. He said that he could not route me through another airport or through another airline. He said that if I received a refund at all, it would be in 2 to 3 business cycles of my credit card. I asked to speak with his supervisor who confirmed everything that the agent said.
I feel I should receive my money back immediately on my credit card and it should be reflected in 2 or 3 days. I feel that our State Attorney General should investigate their business practices and suspend their business license immediately. I feel the Federal government should close their website. I feel their website should reflect the overwhelming disatisfaction with their company that they can not honor a simple guarantee. I would never have booked with them if I had known that it would take 90 days for them to refund my money.
Because of the rude agents that they employ, I can not recommend their services to any world traveler.
