Television arrived Tuesday afternoon in pristine condition. Comcast technician arrived the next day to install new box.

After he left I noticed damage on lower left corner. I immediately contacted Comcast with the theory that the television was dropped by the Comcast technician. I was informed that I should take pictures, and wait for another Comcast representative to contact me. I took the pictures, and waited.

Sunday, I received a call from another representative, R., who told me someone would visit on Monday @ 2pm to investigate. At 3pm, after I had heard nothing from Comcast, I called R., who then arrived shortly after 3:30pm.

Ever defensive and incredulous, R. looked at the television, took pictures, and stated that the damage looked like it 'was caused by heat.' Not sure how to react to this ridiculousness, I told R. that the technician told me nothing about the damage. R. stated that the technician may not have seen it. Considering the fact that the technician placed the new cable box directly in front of the left side of the television, this too, made absolutely no sense to me. R. then left, stating that someone would contact me.

Yesterday (Friday) at about 5:30pm, R. called me and informed me that Comcast was not accepting my version of events, and would not replace the television. Because I was at work, and being summoned away, I was unable engage R. in a conversation about the case. What I DID get from the call was that his theory that the damage was 'caused by heat' is being accepted as fact, and therefore not the responsibility of the technician.

That notwithstanding, the fact remains: Because the television was removed from its original packaging, undamaged, less than 18hrs prior to his visit, and regardless of HOW it occurred, THE DAMAGE TO THE TELEVISION WAS CAUSED BY THE COMCAST TECHNICIAN.

As a loyal COMCAST customer/subscriber for about 15 years, I am beside myself with grief that my integrity and honesty are in question. This is especially compounded by the fact that the technician (who was ever-critical of COMCAST during the installation) by his own admission, has been employed by COMCAST for only 'about 2 years.'

Now, I do not want to see anyone lose his job, but FAIR IS FAIR. I've spent more for this television than I ever have for anything that didn't have wheels and a motor.

I purchased it with plans to host a party for The Opening Ceremony of The Olympics. While the television appears to be in fine working condition, the damage presents such a eyesore, I was compelled to forego my plans, and cancel the party.

What can I do??

I SIMPLY WISH TO BE MADE WHOLE
