SpeedyPC Pro claims that it will scan the computer and eliminate slow running, etc. Seems OK, claims MS Partner status, so must be good. The website offers three licenses for £47.95, so I give it a try. It scans, claims a vast number of problems (including files in the recycle bin each counting as one)which it "fixes" and the apparent difference is nil.
Worse, I find that I am billed for a privacy program (Paretologic Privacy Controls) I don't want and VAT on top of all, coming to £65.69, paid via an outfit called Safecart.
Worst of all, this outfit automatically grants itself a continuing direct debit authority so it can claim my money annually for evermore!
