A week before our family vacation I called and reserved adjoining rooms at the International Hotel in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. I gave them my credit card number to hold the rooms. While driving to the motel for our vacation I received a call from the owner. The owner was very sneaky when he asked me if we would be willing to be on the first floor rather than the second floor. He also said he would give me an extra refrigerater. I said that I guess it wouldn't make a differance if we stayed on the first floor. After I hung up I got to thinking and I immediately called the motel back. I said I just wanted to verify that the rooms were adjoining. It was then that he told me "no" the rooms were NOT adjoining and he had already given our RESERVED rooms to other people. He told me that the 2 rooms on the upper level were the ONLY adjoining rooms in his motel. Because I take my adult children and 3 grandchildren we always leave the adjoining doors open so we can all be together laughing, and teasing each other. I DID NOT RESERVE SEPARATE ROOMS! I RESERVED THE ADJOINING ROOMS FOR A REASON! My adult children were angry and upset and my grandchildren were in tears. We were then stuck with trying to find agjoining rooms at the last minute and it cost me $100.00 more.
I thought that we had entered into a contract. I gave him my credit card number and I assumed that by doing this I would be charged if we did not show up but apparently if he did not live up to his end of the contact I had no recourse.
