  • Protek I D is hitting my parent's checking account each month.

We filed a fraud complaint with the bank. The parent has dementia. The day Protek I D said they received consent (on the telephone) was a day nobody was home as that parent was with me.

I had already spoken with their third party "customer service" company, and made sure they understood that they had no permission, on record, supposedly taped (uh, just like they claim to have of this dementia patient) to be able to hit the checking account again. A refund was promised, within 21 days (too easy) and they agreed to no longer hit the checking.

But, they did, four months now... they will not stop and apparently the fraud dept cannot block the transaction. We opened the claim against Protek I D, the bank asked us if this parent had been to a "payday loans" or done anything like this (trying to figure out how the checking account info got out).

They hit, conveniently on the same day as the social security check arrives (it is not on the same date).

I am next going to the social security office to complain, as this parent, no longer drives, and hasn't done business, and doesn't have a checkbook to be able to furnish the correct info. There are only two organizations that have this checking account info, and social security is one of them.

I am very concerned. Apparently closing this checking account is the only way to stop them.

Protek I D is what is written as the "pay to the order of" and everyone who is on social security and has direct deposit should watch their accounts carefully.
