Received a voicemail msg from (760-278-3027) a gentleman I could barely understand saying basically that if chose not to return his call regarding a very serious legal matter he wished me the best of luck as a series of legal events took place. Understandably confused I returned the call and a woman calling herself attorney Michele Brown informed me that the authorities will be coming to my home tomorrow to take me into custody for failure to pay on a payday loan from Cash Advance, and that I will be processed and taken to California to stand trial. When I asked her what payday loan she was talking about she stated that I should know about the loan since I did not pay it back. Being so scared that I was going to be arrested for something I had no knowledge about I was almost in tears as I asked what needed to be done so I would not be arrested. This person proceeds to tell me that she was not sure if any arrangements could be made since the case had go so far, but she was willing to "put me on hold" while she tried to find out. "Ms. Brown" comes back on the line a short while later explaining that if I were arrested then transported to California that I would incur about $7,000 in fees or I could pay the amount due on the loan ($698.33) when I promptly agreed to pay the $698.33 I was informed that the only acceptable form of payment was via prepaid card by 5 pm (it was about 3:45 when this call took place)and that I was to call her back at (951) 389-0279 before I purchased the card. I was so shaken that I called my husband and he immediately calmed me down and we started seeing holes in this entire situation. When I called the first # back it went straight to voicemail instead of the usual "office is now closed" response. The second number went to straight to voicemail as well. My husband went a step further and identified the numbers to be linked to a communications companay. Watch Out!!
