i had a telephone call from Kermit Phillips of International properties inc in Chicago. saying that he had a buyer for my timeshare in mexico
He was very convincing. he said he would send me a sales contract and the price they were prepared to pay. I received the contract
which seemed legitimate. it said it was in accordance with the laws of illinois/ I was to send $3,000 to an escrow company in mexico. which will be held in trust until the deal goes through. they said that I would have my money in 10 days, plus the 3,000
that I paid. They asked for a voided cheque, so that they could put the money into my bank account. less 8% to go to the escrow company in texas and the resort company in chicago it seemed legitimate... then I get a call from Paul Harris sayin g that mexico want their tax upfront before they can go ahead and do the sale.
he said they wanted $5,000 in taxes. I said I did not have that kind of money, so Paul said their company would pay half, so all I needed to send was $2,500, he said I will then send you a letter saying that this is the last you will be paying. I refused. he got mad and hung up and I never heard from him again and no one at either company would take my calls....
