I was contacted by this company respresenting themselves to be a law firm/collection agency to collect on an overdue payday loan I had inucurred in 2010. We made a verbal - over the phone agreement to settle my debt with Money Mutual Group - Payday loan for $444.00, by making bi-monthly payments via my checking account and credit card of $55.50 every two weeks. The final payment was paid via a Visa Check card on 11/21/11. I assumed all taken care of until recently been receiving harrassing collection calls from Legacy collection-someone name Jim (Fax #716-551-0271) stating I still have a balance open with MMG(Money Mutual Group) for $444.00. Tried to explain and find records of transactions, bank and credit card people cannot help. I called the number from my bank account of Integris and find number no longer valid. These people from Legacy are horrible, rude and difficult to deal with, are calling me at work, I do not know what to do or where to turn. I always thought I was too smart to be scammed, apparently very wrong and big mistake on my part. Can you help me please or at least advise me where I can turn? Thank you.
