United Nations/Freeman Burgh/Alan Smith/Alan Swift

Identical to the other posts on this site, I met "Alan Smith" on a dating website around the beginning of May 2012. He said he was an Orthopedic Surgeon for the United Nations, originally from "Kent" in England and relocated to San Diego, CA. He stated he was 43 years old, had no family, and had never been married. He said both his parents were dead, he had no siblings, that his Fiancé of 7 years died one month before the wedding and it took him 6 years to get over it. Now he was ready, knew what he wanted, saw my pictures and profile and instantly “fell in love” and knew I was “the one” he wanted to marry and spend the rest of his life with. For 4 weeks he sent me hours of texts, emails, and phone calls every day. He was very persistent and convincing, sending me poems and love letters, telling me what every woman would love to hear. He told me he loved me and asked me to marry him immediately upon his return to San Diego. (I began thinking it was too good to be true and things were moving much too fast.)
When he initially contacted me, he was in New York for two weeks to ask the UN for a raise and to receive his next assignment. He said he got the raise and was assigned to the Philippines for 2 weeks by the UN to work at a Hospital in Manila to help children with bone deformities. After a few days in Manila, he told me the UN extended his stay to 4 weeks, but that I could request for him to come home immediately so he could marry me. I told him that the children needed his help and I couldn’t be selfish, but I would wait for him. He became upset, he said he thought I was “the one”, and that “he fell in love” with me, and he wanted to “marry me”, and "I was making him cry". He said I didn’t care about him and didn’t want him to come home. (This escallated to a degree of anger that was out of proportion to the situation. Frankly, I thought THE CATCH was that he had significant anger management issues.)
The next day, he was sweet again. A few days later, he said he hated it in Manila, he was lonely, and wanted to come home and marry me. He begged me to request a personal leave from the U.N so he could come home. He told me to send an email to the "United Nations Human Relations Department" at "[email protected]". I received a reply on 6/1/12 at 7:00 PM, from "Freeman Burgh, UN Officer in Charge". Mr. Burgh said they have “many clients” but “assured a quick reply” as soon as they can. I received the follow-up email the next morning at 6:00 AM! It had a form for me to fill out with the UN Logo on it, and asked questions about me, but didn't even ask for the name of the person I was requesting the leave for. Both emails had terrible spelling and poor grammar. Suspicious, I Googled "Freeman Burgh" and found the prior posts on ScamBook.com. I sent a copy of the expected reply I would receive from "Freeman Burgh" from one of the posts on this website, to "Alan Smith". When I questioned him about it, "Alan Smith" laughed it off, saying how could I fall for what someone on the internet wrote. On another occasion, he accidentally dialed my phone which recorded an unknowing voicemail. In it, I overheard a conversation in "Alan Smith's" voice, speaking first in English and then in a Middle Eastern language. I asked him about it, and he laughed off the recorded conversation on my voicemail, saying it wasn’t him. I did a little background search on the internet. His New York, NY, address WAS a hotel near the UN. However, when I searched his San Diego, CA, address, I found the address didn’t exist (when I asked him about it he changed the subject). Next, I used a couple of free people-search engines and I could not find an "Alan Smith" in San Diego or in New York City in his age range (43). I researched his Yahoo Email Address and found the name associated with it is “Alan Swift” (he said it was a mistake). His cell phone area code was for New York and was a “Googel Internet Voice Account” (he said he didn't know what that was but that he "had the cell number forever”). And his International cell phone number was invalid, with the phone company checking several sources to verify it was invalid (he denied it). He only has 5 photographs of himself. He said he couldn't send any current ones because his web cam was broken; and neither cell phone's picture functions would work.
I never received a reply from the “Transit Department of the United Nations”, to the completed “UN Human Affairs Department, Leave Request Form” that I returned. I did not hear from "Alan Smith" for 2 days. Then he contacted me and explained how his BofA Credit Card would not work in Manila. He said he spoke with the BofA Branch in Manila, and the BofA Customer Service Number, but neither could help him because he had never linked his Credit Card to a Debit Card feature. He said he left his check book in his hotel in New York, NY. Now he had run out of cash, "was starving", and could not pay for internet or calling cards to talk to me. Each message/phone call to me became more desperate and more demanding, begging me to wire him money through MoneyGram or Western Union. His requests badgering me to send him money, ranged from $200 to $2,000. I never did send the money. He then stated I had to send him money because he was “in trouble” and couldn't tell me any details until he got home. Whenever I would question him about why the UN or US Embassy couldn’t help him, or why he had no one else to turn to but me, he would get angry, insulted, and try to make me feel guilty. Then he saw an earlier post on this website, insisted it was posted by me, and went crazy. He sent me messages calling me every filthy name you could think of, for most of the day. He also made threats to retaliate against my family. That's when I started putting together a timeline of evidence from emails, messages, the UN Form, and photos I had saved/recovered.
