Starting on Friday advise was given to change your password to your email address on AOL because of possible hacking. Following that I tried to change my password and it would not let me. I called a telephone number for AOL for assistance and was outsourced to some foreign agency. The telephone connection was so bad and you could not understand the person on the phone. I asked to be connected to someone in the US. He told me that was impossible. He proceeded to tell me that my account had been attacked and that he could fix it for $279. I told him I could not afford that and he said he could do it for $150+. I told him that was not an option and I would not pay. He proceeded to put my email address on an Alert and nothing I can do will let me get into my account. I called back and was outsourced to Shirlanka and this person said that he could fix it for $60. I feel that AOL has allowed 100,000's of members to be attacked and also has let scammers into our accounts. I run AOL through Time Warner Cable Road Runner. In April I had copied my Address book to my C Drive and was able to restore some of the information on a Road Runner Account. I am a Senior (76) and depend on email to correspond with friends and companies all over the country. AOL owes each one of their participants a monetary settlement because of their neglect to protecting our privacy. I am currently locked out of my account. I tried to call the Corporate Office and their mailboxes are filled up. You cannot get to anyone. It is my understanding it is the law that when you call a 800 number and get someone overseas they are held by law to transfer you back to someone in the US. I was able to send emails to AOL but it says they will read the email but probably will not respond. Is there any way that the CPA can start an investigation that results in thousands of email account holders.

Thank you, Mary Jane Reynolds, (Personal Information Removed) New Email Address: (Personal Information Removed) Thank you
