My grandmother who is 82 years old always receives these outrageous letters saying she has won $3mil or some large amount of "unclaimed winnings." It honestly makes me sick to see that people are out there sending these ridiculous letters. With my grandmother being the age she is and dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia, it really sickens me to see her excited when she reads this stuff. Sometimes I catch her asking my grandfather to get her money orders or her check book so she can send money to these idiots. Thankfully I have helped her and my grandfather make it a habit by asking myself or someone else in our family to look up these letters online. Since she receives these letters in the mail on a daily basis, I've taught my grandfather to remember the so called "sweepstakes" names and now he just filters through her mail.
