The "soldier" introduced himself to me on match.com ..his profile is still active lovingsmile67 as Corporal Andrew Mason. I started an online romance with him and unfortunately was scammed out of 1500 when asked to wire him money through Western Union. I am humiliated by this situation and embarrassed that I allowed myself to fall for something like this.

I too met "Mason" on match.com. Luckily, I figured out he was a scammer before he asked me for money. He immediately took down his profile after we started chatting on yahoo ( due to security reasons). Some of the things he said about his life in the military didn't add up. For starters, he said he was stationed at Ft Knox and in the 101st Airborne but the picture he sent me had an 82nd Airborne patch. Then, he started talking about a vocational leave from Afghanistan. There is no such thing in the military and is a known scam. Not to mention he gave me a yahoo and gmail address instead of a us.army.mil email address.
I'm sorry this scumbag posing as one of our great soldiers took advantage of you. -
