We attended a meeting and were presented a program that offered discounted air fares, condos, cruises motels, hotels. We worked with a salesman by the name of Harry Launder. We told him we like to travel for 6 wks and asked if he could check to see if we could book a condo for 6wks at the Turquoise Place @ Orange Beach Al. He went in the back room and said he checked and that this place would be available to us @ a discounted rate. We were v. impressed and felt this was a good deal. Also that our entire family could also have the discounted travel rates at hotels,motels,condos,cruises airfares. We felt this was something we could benefit by so we joined at the rate of $6000.We were told that it would take 3 days to update everything into the system online. So there went our three day cancellation opportunity. I called when the time frame allowed and was much surprised to find out that we could not get this condo @ the Turquoise Place and when I tried to book a motel the price was no lower than what I could normally get. I called my credit card co and told them to cancel our charge. They investigated and said that everything was within the guidelines of mastercard and the paperwork that we had signed pretty much held us responsible. We filed a complaint with the BBB. and after much communication back and forth we were offered a settlement of $2995. with the stipulation that we would not take any further action to refute our case. We felt we had no choice but to agree if we wanted to get anything back from our initial investment. We are still members but I have had no offer of any discounted prices on anything that I have checked into as far as travel,lodging, condos, cruises etc. I tried to book @ the Turquoise Place and they said there was no availability. I asked when there would be and they could not give be an answer. I firmly believe that we, as senior citizens have been taken advantage of and grossly misrepresented. We would like to see this company held responsible for their claims or fully refund our money.
