Calc IQ Trivia Alerts started sending stupid trivia texts to my phone without consent. I had never heard of this company and was hesitant to follow their directions to reply "STOP" because of virus potential. I figured since I hadn't contacted them or given them any of my information, the messages would just stop. I should have called Verizon but didn't and was shocked to see a $9.99 charge on my bill at the end of the month. I contacted the company via the phone number they provided (see below) and had them remove my phone number from their directory, but they refer you to your phone company when you inquire about the unauthorized charges. So, I'm letting Verizon handle the refund and prevention. If you get these messages, reply "STOP" and call your carrier to notify them immediately. Here's a transcription of the first two messages, which came in rapid succession:
"Calc IQ: Trivia Alerts 3xmsgs/wl at $9.99/mo Enter your PIN on the website: 5276 Msg&Data Rates May Apply info: tinyurl.com/7yx73a4 Reply HELP for help"
"Calc IQ: Welcome to Trivia Alerts! 3xmsgs/wk Monthly charges billed @ $9.99/mo. Reply HELP or call 8888906150 for help, STOP to cancel Msg&Data Rates May Apply"
