To: the Mayor's Office & SEPTA

I am requesting that a representative of the Mayor's office look into this situation. Some irregularities with parking fees have been happening, and I am being forced to pay double parking fees.

I have requested a FAIR adjudication of this issue. That means, at a minimum, there should be at least some indication on your part that you have heard and considered my statements. You have totally ignored my request for fair consideration. I do not owe parking fees, and I have request that someone review my statements, give them due consideration, and speak with me. Where is the money I have put into the coin depository? From your treatment of me, there is a distinct indication that you do not value my continued patronage. At all. It seems odd to me that you seem to think that someone who is trying this hard to be treated fairly would actually be responsible for not paying $60 in parking fees. Each time that I received a ticket I responded, explained the recurring situation, the information was given credence by the SEPTA employee, and I was assured each time that each ticket, wrongfully issued, was expunged from my record. Now it seems this was not done as I was assured it had been. The situation of fees missing from the pay slots I used has not been addressed by you, so these "missing" fees will continue. And you will continue to expect me to pay double fees. How can we get this settled?

Be sure to include your license plate number on your check or money order and a copy of this e-mail to ensure your record is properly cleared. We will suspend enforcement until 5/31/2012. Please make payment prior to that date to avoid being towed. Thank you and know we appreciate your continued patronage.

Good morning,

I park in the lot at the regional rail line Radnor station, and yesterday, found 2 violation records - 0010489 (#1, parking fee not paid; 1110490, tow notice), along with an orange tow notice pasted on the car window because of "numerous outstanding unpaid violations".

Each and every time I park in this lot (or at any parking meter) I pay the parking fee before I board the train. I have a witness to this. The gentleman who drives the Brandywine shuttle bus is parked in the lot by the fee box. This lot is on his daily schedule and he waits until time to leave for his next stop. We exchange pleasantries, I put the token in the slot, and I move on to the platform.

Please see the communication below that I had with your office for the last violation that was issued to me. I have parked in this lot since the end of 2002, and this problem with violations issued to me when I have paid the fee is ongoing and very frustrating. I would like to have this situation resolved - once and for all.

As noted below, for some years now I use a SEPTA token to pay the fee. The parking fee is now $1, and the token costs about $1.50. I use the token because it is easier to handle than numerous coins, and I do not mind that I am over paying. It seems that over the years the issue of the misalignment of the coin box has not been adequately addressed, if it has been addressed at all. Each and every time I have received a violation I have followed up with your office. Initially this was by phone, and then over the last several years it has been by e-mail. During some of the times that I spoke with your representative, I checked to be certain that the preceding violation did not remain on my record, and was assured that it had been dispensed with. I also asked for the same assurance in some of the e-mails I have sent. Generally, I do not get a final e-mail response confirming receipt of information and assurance that the violation has been dispensed with.

So where do things stand now? I always pay the parking fee, and I have a witness to this. Whenever I have received an erroneous violation I have duly followed up, explaining the situation each and every time. I do not ever conduct myself in any way to put my car at risk of being towed, and have addressed ALL of the erroneously issued violations. This HAS to be resolved, once and for all, and I am requesting your help in getting this accomplished. It is no longer OK for me to be issued violations even when I pay the parking fee, and then have to go through having to contact your office, explain the situation, and have the violation expunged, then waiting for the next unjustly issued violation, to have to go over the same remediation activities all over again. I would like to meet or speak with someone who can effectively address this situation. Perhaps I can give the parking fee to the SEPTA ticket agent? She is on duty when I arrive at the lot. I have handicapping conditions, and having to retrieve a car that was not justly towed is not an option for me.

I am requesting a final resolution. I can be reached at (Personal Info Removed), or at this e-mail address.

Please help with this.

Hello.

I received a parking violation notice dated 4/20/11 at lot #44 (Radnor regional rail train station). The ticket was issued for #1- parking fee not paid. Please note that I did pay the parking fee. I always use a SEPTA token which costs in excess of the $1 parking fee. In the past, from time to time, I and fellow travelers from the Radnor station have received tickets when we all paid the parking fee. We found out from SEPTA officials that sometimes the space grid on the parking box shifts or gets loose, and the money we put in our slots shifts to other slots.

Since this is what apparently happened to my parking fee on 4/20/11, please dismiss this ticket. If you have any questions, please respond to this e-mail address or call me at 610-828-9414.

Many thanks.
