I have used the sister site, NoMoreRack, before so when I went to bidrack I thought they were legit. I went through the first screen, entering general contact info. On the second screen everything looked like an advertisement except for a small box in the lower right hand corner of the page once you scrolled all the way down where they ask you to enter your credit card info. I figured they just needed the info on file in case you bid on items and then decided never to pay etc and I was expecting to choose a "Bidpack" on the next screen but instead it popped up that I had received some free bids so I thought nothing of it and started playing around on the site with my free spins and free bids. Only after a few minutes did I log in to my bank account and see a $99 charge. After calling customer service, email customer support, and calling my bank I got no where (the charge has to actually go all the way through before the bank can contest charges, as of right now it is still pending). It turns out that one of the boxes at the top left of the screen in the second step is a pre-filled box authorizing the $99 charge, however it is made to look like an advertisement at first glance. I find this practice very deceptive and I have to assume it is intentional. On the website they specifically list their phone number as the number where you can reach someone regarding billing however I called twice and spoke to the same girl both times, Courtney. I specifically asked and she very specifically told me that the customer service number only goes to people that can help with registration. They can in no way help with any billing questions - they can only tell people to email customer support at [email protected]. When you email customer support you get an automated reply stating they cannot refund any money and that the error is a case of misunderstanding. If you continue to email you get continuous automated responses saying "we will assist you by sending an email to you shortly with how to request for a refund" but said email never comes (although I'm not surprised since this email isn't even in grammatically correct English). They are purposefully deceptive with the intent of getting $99 out of everyone that signs on and not delivering any customer service. I even asked if I could simply switch packages down to a more moderate one, like the $60 one, but they still said no. I called them within an hour of first logging on and think their policies border on fraud. I have filed a complaint with the Deleware BBB already and intend to follow up with an attorney. I would really like contact from any lawyer with experience in this type of thing as I definitely plan on pursuing it. I have also already looked into small claims court and would be interested in any further information on that. I WILL get my $99 back.
