I was called by this company Financial Resources and was told I had been approved for a Government Grant and that all I had to do was pay a processing fee of $3. 87 and he said something about another $50 fee, but that I didn’t have to pay it because of my low income of being on SSI. He told me that I would receive a confirmation application. The money was taken out of my account for the processing fee. He told me to look for this thing online in the next 24 hours. I have been waiting and looking all weekend long for this; because he said look for it within the next 24 hours. It has never shown up and so I called and he said look for it again in the next 24 hours.
I still have not received anything and SSI hardly covers my rent, bills and food. I am hurting at the end of the month and what do you know they take it at the end of the month. I had saved for it all week because I am having such financial difficulties, due the amount I receive every month and my sister has been helping me and I have been paying her back. I thought, well what a wonderful thing and I could sure use it. I am going to try and call them again today.
The employee I spoke with, before talking to the manager, name was Mike James and his employee number was: 0813-86.The phone number for this place is: 425-320-5013. I was to use on the grant application that I have never received. I wish I would have seen this other ladies complaint before I paid it.
Even $3.87 is not much, but it is for me. I am on SSI, as I have said before and it is barely enough to pay my rent, cable bill (which includes my home phone, television, internet service) and buy a very little amount of food every month. I have to have the internet service for college and I don’t get good reception on my T.V and so I have to have cable and for me it is convenient to have everything on one bill. I don’t have a cell phone because I cannot afford two telephone bills.
I am very upset about this and I think the Government should do something about people like this because it becomes not only against the laws issue, but also a mental health issue too. I wish there was something I could do to prevent this from happening to other people? What can I do to keep this from happening to me or others? I wish I were smart, like most of these kids that go to Long Beach City College, where I go to school and had the insight I need to see through something like this. Is there anywhere I can get help and I am also willing to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law and I would like to know how I could do that? Any suggestions are welcome.
