My name is Shauntea Evans and I am from New Jersey. Recently, I’ve been looking for another job, so I’ve been searching the popular jobs sites for employment. I came across a listing for a (Admin Clerical) for GE Healthcare in Piscataway, NJ. I applied on March 8, 2012 to the website they provided ([email protected]) on the listing. I received an email from someone concerning the position on that following Monday, March 12, 2012. The email explained the position and they wanted me to set up a yahoo messenger so I could communicate with them, which I did. Next, the position became a at home job that paid $25 per hour. First, the person asks me to send them money to pay for materials and I said no. Then the person said, I will send you a check to pay for everything, I said okay. They sent the check via Federal Express to my house for $2850 and they ask me to deposit the funds in my bank account and buy the materials from an outside vendor. I deposit the check and the bank cleared the check for withdrawal the very next day. I ask the obvious question “Why do you want me to buy the materials?” It would be easier for you to keep it then to send it to me. The person said, this is how the company works. They ask me to send the money through western union to three different locations, which I did. After a day, I started thinking about the location that was on the letter. I called GE in Piscataway, NJ and talk to the Human Researches department and they heard of this scam before, she took my information and I never heard from her again. After a few days of communication, they sent another check but by this time, the bank took my money because the check I deposited and withdrew was a fake.

I need help!! Whom do I talk to, that can help me. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

Thank you!!
Shauntea Evans
