Driving thru a parking lot to meet a friend for coffee I was passing by a newer model white pickup and as I was driving by he rolled his window down and asked me if I might be interested in a wireless speaker system that retails for $1,999 but that he is selling today from an overage on a delivery he had just gotten done with...he didn't name a price right away. I said I had no need for something like that and he said that he would sell it cheap enough that I could give it to a friend of family member that would think I had spent a lot! He said "let me just show you" and he backed up and that's when I should have continued on my way but he was talking to me while he backed up and so I parked the car and went to see what he had. Another guy in the passenger seat was reading something and had headphones on and didn't say word...just smiled. Then he got a business card out and wrote something on the back that I can't read but said it was his business card and his company up in Scottsdale and that he was in a huge hurry and needed to get back to the office or his boss was going to be upset. He showed me the boxes in the back of the pickup...they looked legit...still taped and with shipping straps around it...he started at $600 and when I laughed at him and said forget it...I don't have that kind of money to be dropping a speaker system I knew nothing about nor did I think I had that much in my account...he asked how much I could get and dumb me...I said not much at all so I won't waste your time anymore and I started towards my car. He then followed me and said "okay I'll tell you what...I'll make you a tremendous deal and sell the set for whatever you think you can withdraw....I told him maybe I could get a couple of hundred and before I even had that out of my mouth he had grabbed one of the boxes out of his pickup and put it in the backseat of my car. He said "I will just follow you over to this ATM" a couple of buildings away. So I got it and handed it to him and he said have a nice day and you won't be disappointed. I looked it up when I got home and now see I was scammed...there seems to be a legit website for McClaren Technologies and a page dedicated to this model MtT-7 as well...shows $1,999 for the price too so I have to think that the website is fraudulent too. I don't even want to open the box.
