  • I'm not sure. I would be especially wary if you went through with the credit card number and SSN. Either way, you should check your credit card bills and your credit report regularly. By law Americans are entitled to a free credit reports once a year (from each bureau), and the only website that I know of that provides them is AnnualCreditReport.com. I've also been thinking about reporting this one to the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection ... although I'm sure scams like this one are a dime a dozen.
