I purchased a 'Living Social' certificate for a manicure, pedicure, reflexology and facial for $80. When I booked the appointment on the phone, I was asked to provide a credit card (which is completely uncommon when dealing with Living Social deals) because I was told that if I was late I would have to pay a late fee. I arrived early and some girl gave me a pedicure and then I was handed over to the owner who gave me a manicure. Although I had booked everything for one sitting, the owner ran late, because it took her a long time to do my manicure, so I offered to come back the following week to get my facial, which at the time was a favor that I offered because the owner had told me a heart-wrenching personal story and I wanted to be sympathetic. When I checked my bank account a couple of days later, I saw that a charge of $26 was charged to my account, which I thought I would clear up the next week when I would go back for my facial. The next Saturday, I arrived 15 minutes early, because traffic on I-95 is unpredictable and I was asked by the owner to leave (in 105 degrees heat) because she didn't want me to wait in her salon. The reasoning was that it made her nervous, because she was still dealing with another customer and her cleaning lady needed to clean the area where I could have sat. The salon is in an area where there is really no place you want to hang out and walking around was not an option, given the heat. On top of it, I was angry and taken aback that a business owner would be rude enough to send a customer away because they are early, especially when you threaten to charge people when they are late. I contacted the owner, telling her that I would like to get a credit for the $26 that was deducted from my account, without my signature or approval and that I wanted to get $40 for the missing service. To this date I have not received any refund.
