Walmart smishing scam
Today I received 2 text messages informing me I had won a $1,000 gift card for Walmart. The numbers were 310-801-7466 and 310-801-6057 and both direct me to log on to www.WmartValue.com.com to claim my gift. Based on a little research, the 801 exchange appears to be owned by Blue Licenses Holdings which is owned by AT&T and at least the internet (and we know the internet is always true) says that AT&T uses Blue Licenses for its pre-paid cell phones. At least one of the numbers had not been set up yet and the link didn't work but likely requests personal information. I just thought it most interesting that I got the same text twice in the same day from different numbers. They must be working the scam hard.
