We booked an apartment in Paris and sent money in advance to a bank in London. Their website indicated that due to credit card fraud their policy now required bank drafts for the complete amount plus damage deposit in advance. We received an official looking receipt but have not yet received information on picking up the keys etc. We sent friends to the website and they discovered that the website was gone and noticed a scam report on your site describing a similar experience to ours. We also have not been able to reach their contact Edward Sternagle again.
Furthermore, I happened to come across the same listing for the apartment we chose on Craigslist. They seem now to be operating under 'perfectholidayflat.com'. The website is identical except for the name and the phone number is non-existant.
