This did not happen on above date>It happened in early 80's. My boys and I were so poor that we couldn't go anywhere, so we stayed home ALL the time. I ALWAYS believed that reading was important for them to learn(young boys) so we all picked out a subscription that would come monthly to have family reading together and they would have something to look forward to. WELL!!! One day I called information for the lady's # that supposedly won- I remember like it happened yest!!!! I even remember the pic. of her! I told the 411 (don't remember if we dialed 411 back then! Showing my age!) ===> I told her I wanted to call that lady that 'won' to see if she really did win!? SHE WANTED TO KNOW TOO! It was in next state so she got supervisor to help. WHEN SUPER. GOT ON, SHE WAS TOLD THE STORY-SHE WAS CURIOUS ABOUT WINNERS TOO! GET THIS!!!!! SHE GOT SUPERVISOR OF # INFO IN N.Y ==> SHE WAS ALSO INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT IF THERE WAS REALLY WINNERS!?! ALL of us on 3 way conversation, the N.Y phone info-SUPERVISOR!!! WHO KNOWS THE ROPES==>DID TOTAL SEARCH FOR THIS *WINNER* IN THAT PART OF N.Y. THAT WOMAN =>NEVER<= LIVED THERE! STILL, ALL OF US ON #WAY, FUMING ABOUT HOW THEY RIP PEOPLE OFF> The thing is-yes it would have been nice to win at something sometime, BUT, I was just bored and curious!! WELL BACK TO SUBJECT------THEY GOT ME THE =>DIRECT<= # to the guy that I guess is in charge? HE WAS LIVID ABOUT ME CALLING HIM & ASKING HIM WHY THEY LIE TO PEOPLE THAT HOPE TO WIN(again, I was just bored/curious-so I was calm-he wasn't AT ALL)TOLD HIM THERE WAS ON SUCH WINNER *EVER* LIVING IN THAT PART OF N.Y, ASKED WHY THEY LIE TO PEOPLE WHO WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIER INCOME, ETC. HE GOT SOOOO MAD ABOUT MY ?S, >HE WAS SCREAMING< KEPT REPEATING HOW DID I GET THAT #. I just came back w/-why does it bother you-If I was wrong,you wouldn't be losing it on me and have a ligitmate answer, so please qiut yelling at me. THE IMMATURE MAN SLAMMED THE PHONE DN ON ME! I KNOW HE SLAMMED IT B/C IT DIDN'T CONNECT PROPERLY-HIT DESK? MAYBE? THEN ANOTHER SLAM! I called back- heard my voice asking for answers-another SLAM! called back 3rd time- no answer. *********THAT FOLLOWING YEAR!!!!! Told my friends what happened- 1 of them were 1st to hear, he called me- THEY WERE ANOUNCING THE WINNERS DURING SUPER BOWL!HMMM!****** SO THEY HAVE BEEN RIPPING PEOPLE OFF FOR LOOOOONG TIME! 1st time I found this site. I never really cared about that $, but I know some of you do, be happy w/ what you have, work for what you want and those rich LOSERS ripping everyone off may have everything, but they have nothing! They are NOTHING! I lost one of my boys 6yrs. and NO MONEY IN THE WORLD would/could make anything better again. BE HAPPY - LOVE LIFE! THOSE IDIOTS THAT RIP PEOPLE OFF DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO APPRECIATE LIFE, NOR DO THEY HAVE LIFETIME FRIENDS.
