My wife received this email from a friend that she had taught with before retiring, We called Debbie to confirm if this was a scam and she isnot in the uk.

No one HACKED into my e-mail, I'm in this situation for real, I've been finding it difficult to make overseas calls from here because i don't have access to make a phone call or use a pay phone i would have like to call you aside of as we writing you now. It has really been embarrassing for me,Please i need your help, I'm very sorry for not informing you about my vacation but I'm sure i can explain better when we return, Please let me know if you can help me or not?

I'm writing this with tears in my eyes, I came down here to United Kingdom for a short vacation to visit a resort and got mugged at gun point last night at the park of the hotel where i lodged. All cash,credit cards and cell were stolen off me, I've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all,my flight leaves today and I'm having problems settling the hotel bills.


The hotel manager won't let me leave until i settle the hotel bills which is $2,400 USD or anything you can afford now am freaked out. Please reply back and let me know if you will be able to loan me the cash so that i can give you the necessary details you will need to get the cash to me via western union money transfer, i promise to pay you back as soon as i get home.
