Received recent credit card bill and found repeating charges (about every six days) of $14.95 from Experian Free Credit Report beginning Feb. 24th. As instructed by credit card company I called the merchant number on bill and got agent who wanted my credit card number and additional information. I refused to supply that info. and requested a mailing address for the company to file a complaint. I was told there was no mailing address (!!!). He then tried to sell me the product as protection against this type of fraud--of all the gaul.

I called my credit card company fraud division and they put through a conference call to Experian which then claimed each of the $14.95 charges was under a different name (none of them ours), but pressure from our credit card person got them to agree to reverse the charges.

We are not sure how our credit card number was appropriated and our bill has no other questionable charges from any other merchant. Is Experian using information from personal credit reports to do this? I'm filing a complaint with our state Attorney General to have that office look into the matter.
