A charge for "Premium Services" showed up on our bill from Silicon Investments. My parents received the bill and didn't look too closely at the increased charges. I noticed it yesterday and called T-Mobile Customer Service today to get clarification about the charge. They told me it was from a third-party company and that it was some kind of trivia game text. I definitely know it was unsolicited.

I asked them to remove the charge and Customer Service informed me that because it was past 30 days, they would not be able to issue a refund. I very rarely ask to speak with managers or superiors, but I was really upset by T-Mobile's unwillingness to protect their customers. As soon as I asked to speak with a superior and threatened to cancel our account, they came back on the line to tell me that a refund has already been processed and it should appear in 1-2 billing cycles.

The rep also told me she would block this company from sending any more messages, but also advised me to text reply "STOP" if we received any more texts from Silicon Investments. Something is definitely wrong when the customer has to text reply "STOP" in order not to be scammed. Supposedly, they have put in a memo for review of this company to prevent future customers from being scammed, but I'm not sure how seriously they are taking this complaint.
